BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Luggers Hall, Broadway

The bronze horizontal dial has Arabic numerals showing the hours from 4am to 8pm divided into halves, quarters and intervals of 7 1/2 minutes. There is a sun face and an 8-point compass rose marked with N E W S while round the circumference is the motto ’Let others tell of storms and showers, I only count your sunny hours’. Though the dial bears the date 1654 it is probably of 19th century manufacture. It is mounted on a cylindrical column with a pronounced entasis.
