BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
Ornate gilded square frame for dial with wide fruit and flower border, and with triangular frame for motto above : ’I count the bright hours only’ and sunburst. At the top of the dial ’MCMLXIII’ in gold. Dial face blue/gray. Upright Arabic numerals 9am to 8pm, with short hour lines and half and quarter hour marks. Note ornate drainpipe alongside dial, with gilded gargoyle head and scaled downpipe.
