BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Laurence Church, Combe Longa

Unusual pair of declining vertical dials. The dials are on adjacent faces of a stone block atop the nave parapet above the south porch. They face south-east and south-west, so cover all daylight hours, whereas a south-facing dial would cover at most 12 hours. Although the stone appears to be in good condition no dial markings are visible. The copper or bronze gnomons with straight support struts are in fair condition. Note that the approach to the church is from the north. You have to go round the south side to see the dials.
