BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Essex

Aligned Roman numerals, read from outside, IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, with noon gap. No hour lines but one hr, half hour (with fleur-de-lys head), quarter hour and 5 min divisions. 8-point compass rose at centre. Mounted on square top of square cross-sectioned ’waisted’ pillar.
