BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Augustines Church, Brighton

Stone, maybe fine sandstone or greensand, inset into brick gable of east wall. Motto filling whole lintel below ’THE NIGHT COMETH WHEN NO MAN CAN WORK’ (John, 9:4). Upright Roman hour numerals VI - XII - IIII - V. Long hour lines through hour numerals to small semi-circle around gnomon toe, half-length half hour lines and short quarters in double rectangular frame. Substantial brass gnomon (but no noon gap) with single curved supporter. The church is redundant and in state of disrepair (2008). It was built in 1896 by G.E. Streatfield and the dial is assumed to be contemporary.
