BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

RHS Harlow Carr Gardens (4), Harrogate

A horizontal dial with an 8-pt compass rose labelled to eg NW. Motto ’Une Suffed’ (?). Aligned Roman hour numerals IIII - XII - IIII - VIII read from outside, with split noon. 15-min division inside the chapter ring; outside, divided to half-hour, 10 and 5 mins. The gnomon has a single ’S’ support. Circular cross section pillar with raised patterns and a hint of a date 1657, probably like the dial a Victorian replica. Update July 2016 - the tip of the gnomon is broken off.
