BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Hertfordshire

The dial is above the front entrance porch. Upright Roman numerals VI - XII - IIII - VI, no noon gap. Hour lines to small semicircle around gnomon root, and through numerals, half hour lines terminating in arrow heads, quarter hour marks. Pierced plate gnomon. Latin quatrain in separate stone above dial, written by Rev S E Bartleet - see Gatty (1900) entry 526, who attributes it to a dial made by Barkers for a house in ’Cawley Wood, Essex’.
