BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Clwyd Area

Aligned Roman hour numerals, read from inside, IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, with noon gap. No hour lines. 30, 15, 5 and 1 minute marks outside the chapter ring, with minutes marked in Arabic 15, 30, 45, 60, read from inside. Inscribed with the latitude and ’Joyce Ruthin’. 8-point compass rose marked only to 4 cardinal points. Pedestal carboniferous limestone, fossiliferous. Octagonal top 80 deep, cylindrical body with diameter increasing below high ’waist’; height 1200. Stands on octagonal basal plinth 230 high and 1000 across. The gnomon was reported to be loose (2008).
