BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Hours from 4am to 8pm in Arabic numerals carved on blocks of granite set in grass. Granite strip 1300 long with months carved on either side of the meridian line. Instructions on painted board, with motto ’Stand here tall as the world spins round ... See your shadow show time on the ground’.
