BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Cathedral, Lincoln

In S transept, on buttress. Motto in ribbon scroll at top ’CITO PRAETERIT AETAS’ (The age passes swiftly). Upright Roman hour numerals VIII - IV, with upside down fleur-de-lys for noon. Flat bar gnomon. Furniture in black paint. Reported as recently restored, Sept 2008. In 1987 the dial had a rod gnomon (see report 2662). Ref Gatty (1900) No 128
