BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Clwyd Area

Aligned Roman hour numerals, read from inside, IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, with split noon. At the inner edge of the chapter ring are half and quarter hour marks; within the ring half hours are marked by fleur-de-lys; and to the outer side are marked minutes and 5 minutes, with 15 minutes marked with Arabic numerals read from outside. Compass rose, worn. Signature at the south, read from the north, ’ Lewis Thomas / Chester FECIT / * 1768 * ’. Gnomon a flat open triangle, attached with copper rivets. Octagonal dialplate set on circular base on sandstone baluster. It was said (in 2007) that Nerquis (sic) Hall had a very similar sundial until it was stolen 30-40 years before.
