BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Buckinghamshire

Cast brass plate, all characters being embossed. Aligned Roman hour numerals read from inside, V - noon - IIII - VII (noon being a thin upward pointing triangle). Short hour lines plus quarter and half hour divisions. Gnomon root unusually at centre of dial, with sun face with 8 rays in circle in the S section of the dial plate. Good old plinth of circular section and baluster style with shingle or fish-scale decoration and rope-work. Top is octagonal (381 across flats) with earlier mounting holes for a much larger dial visible.
