BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Old ’Union’ Workhouse, Onehouse, Nr Stowmarket

Upright Roman hour numerals VI - XII - IIII - VI, painted dark blue. Motto in ribbon at top of dial "ORIMVR * MORIMVR" (We rise, we decay). Gold unburst around gnomon root. Mounted on wood boarding set into elliptical aperture in brickwork at upper part of building above fron tentrance. Dial plate has scaqlloped side edges and scrolled ornamentation painted red and blue. Metal rod gnomon offset to about 1pm (probably not intentionally).
