BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Lincolnshire

In eastern section of graveyard. Aligned Roman hour numerals, read from outside, IIII - XII - IIII - VII, with split noon. Hour lines and half and quarter hour divisions. 16 point compass rose at centre, also floral decoration. Figure of skull (at 6am) and scythe (at 6pm). Motto (beneath skull) "So glides ye houres / so reap ye days / those moments measure / life awaye". Below that, "Fecit J M", and in the chapter ring "VENE VIDI VALE". Inscription plates on grave top to Lily Marguerite Benton (1879-1938) and Walter Benton (1880-1967)
