Dial in Berkshire

Circular horizontal memorial dial. In a cemetery a mile south of Kintbury on Pebble Hill and Forbury Lane, this dial is on the left of the path from the entrance gateway into the cemetery. The horizontal dial has Roman hour numerals, aligned with the hour lines and read from outside. There are hour lines from the chapter ring to a double circle around the gnomon foot; 1/2 and 1/4 hour divisions, and a noon gap. The Latin motto ’Redime’ means ’redeem’. The plinth is engraved in memory of Alma Kate Ash (1886 - 1947).
