BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Peter’s Church, Cranborne

8-point compass rose, labelled to N etc only. Motto round outside, starting at S :"Let others tell of storms and showers, I’ll only count your sunny hours". Date 1767 at S of gnomon root. A modern dial. Aligned Arabic hour numerals, read from outside, 4 - 12 - 8 with noon gap and 1/2, 1/4 and 1/8 hour divisions. Octagonal sectioned white stone baluster-style pedestal has two engraved plates on its base, to George Cecil Berry (1910 - 1997), andto Jane Faye Scott, d 194x. Dial incorrectly oriented and ill-delineated.
