In a garden by playing fields entrance, Ribchester

This lovely free-standing stone dial is in a garden by the playing fields in Ribchester village. Carvings of fish and a bird surround the dial plate, and a decorative sun adorns the root of the gnomon. The dial face also bears the name of the maker, Fiona Bowley, and the date "MM" for the Millennium. Times shown are in upright Roman numerals from VI through midday to VI with no minute subdivisions.
