BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Leics & Rutland

y made when the mansion was built in 1804-08. A Constable pencil & wash drawing showning the hall and the sundial is in the Avon County Reference Library, Bristol. 32-point compass. Uses XII (with noon gap) & IIII. Minute marks for 30, 15, 10, 1; 10s numbered in Arabic. Anticlockwise EOT ring with days (28.30.31) EOT in minutes. Lat marked. 32 placenames (see sheet) between hours with arrows to times. Very substantial and elaborate pedestal of Carboniferous Limestone (several outcrops in the vicinity). 1700 high. Probably designed by George Dance the Younger.
