BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary the Virgin, Saxlingham Nethergate

A church booklet records that "The interesting one-handed clock and sundial is dated 1794. It was re-furbished and re-dedicated in the summer of 1988". The gnomon is an iron rod with ball end, but the lower part has been bent upwards to a horizontal position. The bend is quite sharp as if deliberate. Roman numerals, aligned, afternoon hours read from outside, morning from inside, meaning 7 to 11am are upside down! Uses Cross patty for noon, and IIII. Located half way up church tower.
