BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Essex

The dial is set upon a large block of stone on the lawn in front of the house, sadly overlooked at noon by a tree. It is an unusual Mean Time Noon mark in the form of a ring dial with an analemma (though no Solar Noon line) engraved on its inner surface. A brass oculus set in an elliptical hole allows the light to move around the analemma. It is marked for months only.
