BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Hertfordshire

Sundial furniture in relief. Shows 4am to 8pm in hours. Uses XII and IV. Numerals read from outside the dial. Flower décor in spandrels represent the seasons. Oval medallion at gnomon root inscribed ’Sandford Stone’. Full floral piercing to gnomon. Part of gnomon tip may be missing. Set on elegant Corinthian style column with square capital and base and with the capital set at 45 degs to base.
