BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Raby Castle, Barnard Castle

The dial is adjacent to the Clock. It shows 6am to 6pm in half and quarter hours, with full length half hour lines. Black on white ground. Uses XII and IIII. Thin rod gnomon appears incorrectly placed or partly dislodged in 2004. Further information requested.
