BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cumbria

Rescued from farm demolition and not fixed on pedestal. Shows 4am to 8pm on main scale in hours - possibly in half and quarters too. Uses XII and IV. Numerals read from inside the dial. Open strip gnomon. Dial scribed on irregular piece ofslate. The house is not identified.
