Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Hereford & Worcester

In the garden is a brass horizontal sundial in memory of the first headmistress. It shows the hours IIII - VIII (using XII for noon) divided into halves, quarters and intervals of 7 1/2 minutes. Aligned numerals are read from outside the chapter ring. The motto on the dial plate reads "Tyme Flyes", while on the capital is engraved "Sole Orto Spes Decedente Pax", [Sun rise Hope, Sunset Peace]. Knuckleduster gnomon piercing. Split noon line. Eight point compass rose at gnomon root. Heraldic beasts either side of gnomon. The dial is set on a modern elegant square section pedestal with a square capital and a three step base.
