BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

John Ruskin’s Garden, Coniston

Motto reads: "I only count youre sunny houres". False date of 1667. Shows 4am to 8pm in half and quarter hours. Loose gnomon with simple undersupporter. Set on a hexagonal section concrete pedestal 973h. Dial may date from 1955 - the year of the garden’s restoration.
