BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

King’s Head, Beaconsfield

This is a cast bronze dial dating from 1925 and measures about 700mm in width and 400mm in height. It shows the hours VI - VI undivided. A sun face centred on the gnomon root has rays which form the hour lines. It carries the motto ’Tempus Fugit’ and to either side are inscriptions reading ’Essex House 1580 ’ and ’King’s Head 1714’. The gnomon has an S-shaped supporter. The dial occupies the lower half of a partially blocked sash window and is canted out slightly on the right hand side.
