BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Durham

Shows 4am to 8pm in half and quarter hours. Arabic numerals aligned with hour lines and read from inside the dial. Noon gap. Northerly semicircle at gnomon root. At the S, read from the N: ’Thos Binks / 1783’. Set on short cylindrical capital on a square section stone shaft. The whole mounted on a square one step slab.
