BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Manse Hollocombe, Winkleigh

A vertical south slate dial is canted on the wall of the house next to the chapel and shows the hours VI-VI divided into halves and quarters. It has the date 1848 and is in good condition. When Mrs Crowley drew it in 1958 she described it as being in poor condition and recorded the date as 1548. It must have been restored at some time.
