BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cambridgeshire

The dial is formed of a brass frame mounted directly on the brick wall below one of the windows. Under it is the motto ’There will be time’, in individual brass letters, from ’The Lovesong of J Alfred Prufrock’ by T S Eliot. Upright Roman hour numerals are formed from stainless steel coffee spoons, in reference to ’I have measured out my life in coffee spoons’ from the same work. They show 7am to 6pm with no subdivisions of the hours. The gnomon is of sheet brass, undercut.
