BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Hampshire

The dial is on the south wall of the staff room. It is coloured in shades of blue, with furniture gilded in gold and platinum leaf. It shows 5am to 4pm in upright Arabic numerals, using a cross for noon. There is a gilded circle at the root of the gnomon. The motto around the top reads: ’Let there be light’. The dial is a memorial for two disabled children who died in their teens, and declination lines mark their birthdays, 22nd Oct and 4th Nov. The lettering is in a special font for the visually disabled.
