BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Suffolk

The dial is on the stable block. It shows 9am to 7pm in hours, using XII and IIII, with gilded numerals and hour lines. There is the upper part of a half sun above the horizon line, and three coloured declination lines for solstices and equinoxes. The short gnomon has a single supporter, and a ball nodus on the tip. A motto across the top reads: ’O Fortunatos Nimium / sua si bona Norint / Agricolas’ (A farmer’s life is a happy life if only he would admit it), and an inscription at the bottom reads: ’Stone House Farm / Restoration began 2000’.
