BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Londonderry

Badly broken and cracked until restoration and provision of a safety backing in matching plum slate. Three chapter rings. Main ring (Arabic Nos) (marked for the place where the dial is currently located) shows 4am to 6pm in 30, 15 and 5 min marks. Uses 12 for Noon. Numerals read from inside the dial. Noon gap. Hour lines pass through numerals. EoT scale of Sun too fast, too slow type with months and zodiac identified. Zero April 24th. Then two time scales (Roman Numerals) - Using XII and IV- for "Cartagena, Port Royal and New York" and secondly for Cape Carmel, Jaffa, Jerusalem and Cairo. Gnomon aligned with corners of octagon. Gnomon currently missing but replacement being made.
