BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary the Virgin’s Church, Kidlington

Rectangular south-facing vertical dial on the gable of the south transept. All markings are now very indistinct, but a semicircle under the gnomon root and some hour lines can be made out. They appear raised so the dial was probably painted. The stone appears in good condition apart from some spalling. The motto is undecipherable though it may begin with UT and therefore read: "Ut Hora Sic Vita" or some such. The gnomon has an unusual circular opening. Its tip is broken off. There is a lot of rust stain on the dial from the gnomon. Note that Church Street is a northern extension of High Street and the church is some distance from the rest of Kidlington. Access from the A4260 isn’t easy. From Oxford Road take Green Road, then School Road to High Street. From the North, take The Moors.
