BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Hertfordshire

Modern garden dial with pressed markings. Shows 4am to 8pm in half hours. Half hours marked by dots. Uses XII and IIII. Numerals read from outside the dial. An inaccurate scale purports to show quarters but does not. Gnomon placed too far South. Gnomon is of an early version of the knuckleduster type. False date of 1661 at South. Set on a slender circular baluster pedestal with large capital and square base. Memorial dial with last deceased in 1992.
