BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Augustine’s Church., Kirkby in Cleveland

The dial which declines 9 degrees East, is located on the nave wall. Mottoes read: "Dum Spectro Fugio" (possibly an error in re-painting for ’Specto’) and "Time wasted is existence used is Life" (?). Shows 6am to 5pm in half and quarter hours. Uses XII and IIII. Inward fleurs de lys half hour markers. White rose in upper spandrel scrolls in the others. Hour lines emanate from a stylised half sun. Strip finger ended gnomon and supporter.
