BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Normanby Hall, Normanby

The dial is in the park/garden area to the south of the main building. It is mounted on an octagonal sectioned baluster style plinth. Around the perimeter is inscribed ’This sundial was presented to Sir B G D Sheffield Bart by the servants and employees on his Normandy and West Butterwick Estates on his marriage July 19th Anno Domini 1904’. It is signed ’Longden and Co (?17) Oxford St, London W’. It has hour numerals IIII - XII - IIII - VIII read from outside, with a noon gap, and divided to 30, 15 and 5 minutes. There is an 8-point compass rose at the centre
