BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Belmont House, Throwley

This is a good sundial but sadly its gnomon is missing. Hours are shown from 4am to 8pm in 30, 15, 7.5 and (in Arabic tens) 1 min marks. It has a split noon. Roman numerals are read from outside the dial and use the form XII and IIII. There is a 16 point compass and an EoT scale of Watch Faster/ Slower type; key points on the scale not observed. The dial is set on a fluted cylindrical column with an octagonal capital, square plinth and a large octagonal base.
