BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Dyfed Area

The dial is In front of the house. It s set on a 25 mm slate base, on a Bath Stone baluster pedestal, probably early 18C. It is known to have previously been sited in the walled garden. The dial has been replaced since 1970. It has aligned Roman hour numerals V - XII - IIII - VII, with split noon, read from inside, with 30, 15 and 5 minute marks. 16 point compass labelled to SSE etc. Curved EOT graph. ’LAT 51║ 30’ ’ Motto round the edge ’THOU BY THE DIAL’S SHADY STEALTH MAY KNOW TIME’S THIEVISH PROGRESS TO ETERNITY’ (Sonnet LXXVII, Shakespeare).
