BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Donegal

The dial is in the rose garden. Subsidiary dials use Arabic Nos and are read from inside the dials: New York (11-3), Alexandria 6-10), Sydney (3-7) and Bengal (7-1). Main dial shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 15 and 5 min marks. No Noon gap. Uses XII and IV. Numerals read from inside the dial. 64 names of cities indicate when it is noon there. 16 point compass in centre and on horizon line. EoT scale arranged around the outside. Clock too fast, Clock too slow type. Trefoil and quatrefoil designs fill blank spaces. Ref: BSS Bulletin 16(iv) pp 161-170
