BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dunmore House (4), Carrigans

Heliochronometer. Mottoes read: ’Soon Comes Night’, ’Soll man den tag loben auf den abend’ (Don’t praise the day before the evening), ’Omnes vulnerant ultima necat’ (All (hours) wound, the last kills), and one in Hindi. Brass alidade with two sights mounted on precast inclined octagonal top (630 a/f) the whole set on a chamfered square section column with square plinth and octagonal base. EoT correction is by an analemma in the sights. Shows 5am to 9pm in half hours and, by transversal ’vernier’, to minutes. Ref: BSS Bulletin 16(iv) pp 161-170
