BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Mottoes read: "Lux venit ab alto", "Dum Spectra fugio", "A virtuous life, a happy eternity", I shew by the kindnefs & splendour of the sun", "Brevis hominum vita". Inscr reads: " Portaferry Lat 54d 20mN 6d 16m W". Archangel Long 49d 10E". Inner time scale shows time in Archangel as 12 to 6pm in 30 and 15 mins. Main dial shows 5am to 7pm in 30, 15 and 5 mins. Uses XII and IV. Numerals all read from outside the dial. Split noon. Makers name hacked off and William Ardissil inserted. Gnomon is a replacement (by D Dunlop)
