BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial celebrates the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, being inscribed ’Most heartily we beseech thee with thy favour to behold our most gracious Sovereign Lady Queen Elizabeth’. It was given by the Royal School Haslemere, and the base of the dial is engraved ’RSH’ between oak leaves, which recall the crest of the former Grove School. The dial is embellished with a heavy chain with 50 links celibrating the years of the Queen’s reign, and recalling the former Royal Naval School.
