BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Topsham Museum, Topsham

In the museum garden is a bronze horizontal dial showing the hours IV-VIII divided into halves, quarters and intervals of 7 1/2 minutes. Round the gnomon root is an 8-point compass rose and to either side of the gnomon is engraved a pair of exotic birds. In spite of the date of 1635 on the dial plate suggesting antiiquity, the dial dates from 1971. It stands on a split block column topped by a cherub head mount from a former pedestal.
