BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Deanery Lodge, Hadleigh

The Lodge is by St Margaret’s Church. The dial has a substantial gnomon, cut off before its root, and the dialplate is slotted to fit over the gnomon. The hour lines are incorrectly drawn. The whole is set on a drum wedge to incline the dial at about 20 degrees to the south. The gnomon inclines at 55 deg to the horizontal. Noon is marked XII despite other Arabic Nos. Set on a fat stone baluster pedestal with circular top and base. The dial was installed by the present (Aug 2005) owner at Hadleigh in about 1994 having been transported from Presteigne, Wales. Prior to being in Wales it was in Norfolk.
