BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Kent

This is a copy of the original dial, stolen in 1997. It is set in the original (now damaged) cylindrical pillar, and the inscription reads: ’ELIAS ALLEN MADE THIS DIALL . . . ANO DOMINI 1634’. It shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 15 and 7.5 min marks, and uses XII and IIII. The hour lines pass through the numerals, which are read from inside the chapter ring.
