BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cumbria

The inscription reads: "In memory of Max Nicholson (Hart House 1919-1922) founder member of the World Wildlife Fund who found his love of Natural History at Sedbergh". Divided (’Spot-on’) gnomon to show solar noon. Shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 15, 10 and 5 min marks. EoT table. Set on an Haddonstone pedestal. Arabic Nos for summertime. There is a second memorial to Nicholson at Barnes (SRN 7995).
