BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Plume of Feathers, Princetown

In the courtyard to the South of the inn is a bronze horizontal sundial of about 400mm diameter mounted on a square section granite pedestal. An inscription reads: "The Langton Family 1968. ’The Plume of Feathers’ Built 1785 Reopened 1991".It shows 5am to 7pm in half hours. Uses XII and IIII. Numerals read from inside the dial. Noon gap. Prince of Wales feathers (and motto "Ich Dien" - "I serve") and EoT graph, longitude corrected. Elaborate piercing to gnomon. It was made by Richard Thorne of Mary Tavy and installed in 2000.
