BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Gloucestershire

The dial is set on two stone corbels on the south façade, and uses gold leaf décor on a slate ground. It shows 9am to 7pm in hours, using XII and IV. The motto across the foot reads: ’Tempus Pertinax’ (Time persists). A ball nodus on the end of the gnomon rod indicates the equinoxes and part of the summer solstice. There is a flaming sun at the root. The hour lines are drawn ’under’ the semicircular chapter ring and run to the edge of the dialplate.
