BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
The bronze horizontal memorial dial is a 20th century creation. The dial plate is 200mm in diameter and has a sun face round the gnomon root. The motto reads: ’Hours Pass’. It shows the hours IV - VIII divided into halves, quarters and periods of 7 1/2 minutes. Uses XII and IIII. Numerals read from outside the dial. The gnomon is set at 53° and its style measures 100mm. Set on square section tapered pedestal with square capital and base 890mm high. The vertical sides of the plinth top stone are inscribed ’OMNIA VINCIT AMOR’.
