BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Oxfordshire

Well made dial. Shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 15, 7.5, and on outer scale, 10, 5 and 1 min marks (numbered in Arabic tens). Uses XII and IIII. Numerals read from outside the dial. Half hours marked by inward fleurs de lys. Noon gap. Times of noon in 32 cities. C/arms of original owner. Pierced gnomon showing date and owners initials. Set on a cylindrical fluted column with ornate circular capital and circular base with motto inscribed there. Only the word ’Heart’ is readable now.
